For decades, the faithful file share has successfully provided a space for sharing documents and other data in organizations around the world. As data volumes increased, some of the scalability and functionality limitations of file shares became more evident as organizations needed basic document management functionality.
During the past decade, Microsoft SharePoint products and technologies have evolved alongside file shares and now provide robust document management capabilities that are highly regarded and well-utilized.
